Castos pricing: how the plans are built and what to check first

How Castos plans are built for private podcasts: subscriber caps, the listener app, the trial and a cost-per-listener check. No prices listed.

Last materially reviewed 2026-10-18

Quick answerCastos lists Essentials, Growth, Pro and a contact-us Premium plan, billed monthly or annually. For private podcasts the plan sets the limits: 100, 250 or 500 private subscribers, the listener app from Growth, and single sign-on only on Premium. This page shows no prices. Read them live, then run the cost-per-listener check in this guide.
Castos is likely to fit when

✓ Teams of up to about 500 that want staff in ordinary podcast apps

✓ Leads who must remove one person without affecting anyone else

✓ Companies that prefer a free listener app to feed links

✓ Coaches who sell a client-only feed

Important limitations

— Teams that need single sign-on on a plan they can start online

— Companies with thousands of listeners and no wish to request a quote

— Staff who only use Spotify

— Anyone who needs audio that cannot be shared once downloaded

Castos pricing: four plan levels and a billing choice

Castos shows four plan levels. Essentials, Growth and Pro can be started online. Castos Premium is marked contact us and is aimed at large organizations. Each can be billed monthly or annually, and the annual choice carries a two-months-free badge. Plans were read on October 18, 2026. Prices are left out here because they depend on the toggle and can change.

All plans include unlimited podcasts, episodes and downloads, and free migration from a previous host. For a company podcast, the lines that differ by plan are the private ones.

What each plan level adds for private podcasts

  • Essentials: up to 100 private subscribers, password-protected feeds, one team member and no listener app.
  • Growth: up to 250 private subscribers, the listener app, up to 5 team members and a one-to-one onboarding call.
  • Pro: up to 500 private subscribers, up to 10 team members, a 100% uptime SLA and payment by invoice or check.
  • Castos Premium: custom private limits, single sign-on, unlimited team members, custom contracts and invoices, and a named account manager.

Add-ons, limits and hidden costs: what the pages say

Past 500 private subscribers, Castos describes an add-on that adds subscribers in blocks of 500. It is not self-serve: the pricing page says to start a trial and get in touch so Castos can upgrade you. The add-on carries its own monthly charge, shown on the live page. Premium lists increased limits at custom pricing instead. The pricing FAQ also says that if you go over your plan's private-subscriber limit, Castos moves you up to the next tier automatically, so a growing list can raise the bill without a separate decision.

Three costs sit outside the plan fee. The first is staff time to invite and remove people, unless you connect a tool; Castos lists Zapier and, for WordPress sites, membership plugin syncs. The second is the shared-link trap: a group link cannot be revoked for one person, so ending one person's access means using individual feeds. The third is the plan gate on the app. If you want the app, the lowest plan is Growth, not Essentials.

Trial terms: length, card and cancellation

Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial, and the pricing page says you can cancel anytime. Castos's own comparison page adds that you put a card in to start the trial and it is not charged until the trial ends. This guide did not read the refund policy, so read it before you pay.

A trial is the cheapest way to test what matters most for a company. Invite two colleagues, one on iPhone and one on Android, and watch how long each takes to hear an episode. Then remove one of them and see what happens.

Is it worth the fee? A cost-per-listener check

Cost per listener is the monthly fee divided by the people you will actually invite. This page gives no dollar figures, so take the fee from the live plans page with the billing toggle set the way you will pay.

Match your headcount to the cap first. Up to 100 people fits Essentials. Up to 250 needs Growth. Up to 500 needs Pro. Beyond 500 means the add-on or Premium. Then divide. A plan that is nearly full costs less per head than one that is a third empty, so do not pick a higher plan only for room you will not use. Rivals count differently: the host shortlist shows caps in listeners, in feeds and by quote.

Which plan level matches which job

  • Essentials: a pilot, or a team under 100 whose members will use their own podcast apps.
  • Growth: a company-wide show for up to 250 people where you want a listener app instead of feed addresses.
  • Pro: up to 500 listeners. The grid lists invoice and check payment from Pro, while the pricing FAQ also names invoice billing on annual Growth, so ask Castos if your finance team needs it.
  • Premium: single sign-on, custom contracts or limits above 500, bought through a conversation.
  • None of them: a show that needs a branded app on a plan you can start online. Read the Castos review before you decide.
