Castos private podcast: what every plan includes
A Castos private podcast is a show that only the people you add can play, each with a personal feed. Each person is a private subscriber, and the feed, the web address a podcast app reads to find a show's episodes, is one Castos says you can revoke at any time.
Castos describes private podcasting as included on every plan, while its pricing grid and app page start the listener app on Growth, so Essentials listeners use a personal feed in their own podcast app.
As read on October 18, 2026, Essentials is $19 a month, billed monthly, for up to 100 private subscribers, Growth is $49 for up to 250 and Pro is $99 for up to 500; see Castos pricing. Above 500, Castos lists an add-on of $50 a month per extra 500, but its pages give three different accounts of how you get it.

An individual subscriber feed is unique to one person, and Castos can revoke it without touching anyone else. The generic private feed is one shared link for a group, and Castos says it cannot be revoked once shared, so use individual feeds, not the shared link, for anyone who may leave.
Adding and removing private subscribers
You add one person by name and email, and Castos emails them their own feed. A bulk spreadsheet import is arranged with the Castos team. Stripe and Kit add and remove subscribers natively, Zapier connects almost any other tool, and WordPress membership plugins sync through Castos's free plugin, Seriously Simple Podcasting.
| Access method | How a listener gets in | How access ends |
|---|---|---|
| Individual subscriber feed | Name and email; Castos emails a unique feed | Revoked in the subscriber menu; others keep listening |
| Generic private feed | One shared private link for a group | Cannot be revoked or disabled once shared |
| Castos mobile app, Growth and up | Email and a one-time code | App follows the list; removed people cannot listen |
| Stripe or Kit | Added natively; Stripe needs a recurring product, Kit a paid account | Removed natively; Stripe revokes when a subscription ends |
| Zapier | Connects almost any tool you sell with | Removal not described; Zapier has its own plans |
Private podcasting and its subscriber tools are part of Castos's 14-day trial, which takes a card at the start and charges it only after the 14 days.
Hybrid shows, the web player and analytics
A hybrid podcast is one show with a public feed for everyone and private feeds for subscribers. Castos includes it on every plan with the same caps, but not with the Seriously Simple Podcasting plugin. Castos turns its embeddable web player off by default for private shows and warns that a player on a public page lets anyone listen.
Limits of a Castos private podcast
Castos says an episode downloaded to a phone cannot be retrieved or deleted, so revoking a feed cannot recall old episodes. No Castos page says whether one person on two private shows counts once or twice against a cap. Castos says Spotify does not support private feeds, and Spotify's own help lists Hello Audio and Transistor, not Castos, among the platforms it connects through Open Access, its route for private and paid feeds.
Pick Hello Audio for unlimited listeners on one private feed: Starter is $17 a month, billed monthly, though Hello Audio names no single sign-on. Pick Transistor, Professional at $49 a month, billed monthly, for 500 private subscribers, each email counted once across private shows. See private podcast hosting for employees and how to create an internal podcast.
