Castos Essentials is $19 a month, billed monthly, for up to 100 private subscribers, people who each get their own private feed. Growth is $49 for 250 and adds the Castos app. Castos's help center says it takes no cut of the subscriptions you sell. A hybrid show, one show with a public feed and private feeds for subscribers, is included on every plan and works with Stripe, Kit and Zapier.
Stripe and Kit add and remove subscribers natively, Zapier links other tools, and WordPress membership plugins sync members. Stripe's automation works only with recurring products, and Kit needs a paid Kit account. Paid feeds go through Stripe, Kit, Zapier or a membership tool; how to create a paid podcast has the steps.
Hello Audio and Buzzsprout Subscriptions
Hello Audio Starter is $17 a month billed monthly, or $14 a month billed annually, for 1 private feed. It lists a landing page and checkout, Stripe Connect payments, a unique link for each listener and unlimited listeners. Hello Audio is on Spotify's list of connected platforms, and its help page says the audio in Spotify is locked while titles and show notes stay public.
Buzzsprout Audio is $18 a month billed monthly, or $15 a month billed annually, and Subscriptions is available on paid plans. A creator can make single episodes or the whole show subscriber-only. Buzzsprout charges a fee on subscriber payments, with the rate on its Subscriptions page. Its help center says a plain private podcast is not exactly possible, because anyone with the feed address can download episodes.
Supporting Cast: membership by demo
Supporting Cast shows no price: its home page speaks of podcast memberships and asks for a demo. It lists bulk user invites and management, and Spotify's help page lists it among the connected platforms. It shows no plan or limit.
When Supercast is still the pick
Stay with Supercast when you want a landing page and payments through your own Stripe account in one product, usage alerts on shared feeds and Spotify listening. Its pages read give no minimum fee, no payout schedule and no creator trial. Selling through an existing membership tool needs Supercast's Custom plan, where the tool bills members and Supercast supplies the private feeds.
Castos's 14-day trial gives time to set up the feed, and the card added when it starts is not charged until the 14 days are up. Castos vs Supercast sets the two side by side, and podcast membership platform widens the field.
