Supporting Cast podcast alternative: the short list
Supporting Cast does not publish a price, so the alternatives with public prices are Castos, Podbean Business, Transistor and Hello Audio. Supporting Cast says it delivers an internal communications podcast directly to employee podcast apps. It shows no plan or listener limit either and asks for a demo. The four alternatives differ most on single sign-on, which Supporting Cast lists: Podbean Business lists it, Castos lists it only on Castos Premium, and Transistor and Hello Audio name none on the pages read.

Castos publishes three self-serve plans, billed monthly: Essentials at $19 for up to 100 private subscribers, Growth at $49 for 250 and Pro at $99 for 500. A private subscriber is one person with their own private feed, and revoking that feed leaves everyone else untouched. The Castos app starts on Growth and is free to listeners. Growth adds up to 5 team members and a 1:1 onboarding call, and Pro holds 10 team members.
Castos says Spotify does not support private feeds, while Spotify's help page lists Supporting Cast among the platforms it connects.
Single sign-on (SSO), where staff sign in with the company's own login, is on Castos Premium only, listed from $499 a month with a contact-us button. Ask Castos whether its single sign-on covers listeners; internal podcast platform sets out where two Castos pages disagree.
Podbean Business: single sign-on at a listed price
Podbean Business is $129 a month billed monthly, or $99 a month paid yearly. It lists SSO login, SOC 2 protection, unlimited admins and 100 private members, and says it supports identity providers such as Azure, Okta and SAML 2.0. Extra members can be bought with no price shown. Podbean Enterprise lists 500 private members at a custom price. Members with no Podbean account are emailed a Podbean login. Castos vs Podbean compares the two.
Transistor and Hello Audio: larger lists or no listener cap
Transistor Professional is $49 a month billed monthly for 500 private subscribers, and people are added by hand, CSV upload, Zapier or an invite link. Transistor emails subscribers about each new episode, gives each a website player and counts a person once across private shows. Hello Audio Starter is $17 a month billed monthly for 1 private feed with unlimited listeners; expiring feeds start on Hello Audio Pro.
Neither company's pages read name single sign-on, so a buyer who needs it is choosing between Castos Premium, Podbean Business and Supporting Cast.
When Supporting Cast is still the pick
Pick Supporting Cast for access by team, department or role, two-factor sign-in, bulk user invites and automatic revocation if content is shared outside the company, all as it describes them. It also says employees subscribe in two taps, without copying and pasting private RSS feeds. Its price comes only after a demo request, and its home page footer shows the year 2022.
Castos's 14-day trial starts at sign-up with a card added first, and the card is charged after the 14 days. For wider choices see Castos alternatives.
