Hello Audio alternatives: the short list

The Hello Audio alternatives for a private show are Castos, Transistor, Supercast and Podbean Business. Hello Audio's own pages show three limits: no proprietary app, a count of private feeds rather than listeners, and no company controls named. A private feed is a podcast feed hidden from directories and opened with a unique link.

Hello Audio Starter is $17 a month billed monthly, or $14 a month billed annually, as read on October 18, 2026, for 1 private feed with unlimited listeners.

Castos: a listener app and revocable feeds

Castos suits a Hello Audio user who wants a listener app. The Castos app starts on Growth, $49 a month billed monthly, costs listeners nothing and signs them in with an email and a one-time code. Revoking one person ends that person's feed, and the app follows the subscriber list. Castos caps private subscribers at 100, 250 and 500 by plan, and Castos vs Hello Audio compares the two plan by plan.

Essentials, $19 a month billed monthly, has no app, so its listeners use a personal feed in their own podcast app, as Hello Audio's do. Castos says Spotify does not support private feeds, while Spotify's help page lists Hello Audio among its connected platforms. Castos's import guide covers a public feed and never mentions private feeds, so how listeners move over is not documented; Castos's team arranges bulk imports of new private subscribers.

Transistor: subscribers counted once, email notices and Spotify

Billed monthly, Transistor Starter is $19 for 50 private subscribers, Professional $49 for 500 and Business $99 for 3,000. A person counts once, by email address, across all private shows, and every subscriber has a website player and an email when a new episode is published.

Transistor offers Spotify Open Access, Spotify's route for private feeds, on all plans, and subscribers need their own Spotify account. Its trial runs 14 days, and its pricing page does not say whether a card is needed. Castos vs Transistor sets it against Castos.

Supercast and Podbean Business: paid feeds or company sign-in

Supercast charges $0.59 a month per subscriber plus Stripe's fees and sends usage alerts if a subscriber shares a private feed. It sells paid subscriptions, so Supercast alternatives covers it in more depth.

Podbean Business is $129 a month billed monthly, or $99 a month paid yearly. It lists 100 private members, SSO login, SOC 2 protection and the Podbean Pro app. Members use a Podbean login, emailed to those without one, on its site or in the Pro app; no personal feed address is named. SSO means staff sign in with the company's own login instead of a separate password.

When to stay on Hello Audio

Stay on Hello Audio when one feed serves a large audience: Starter lists unlimited listeners, while each alternative here caps private subscribers or charges per subscriber. Hello Audio Pro adds 3 feeds and expiring feeds at $47 a month billed monthly.

A switch in Hello Audio blocks a listener, and Hello Audio says some apps keep files already downloaded. Its 7-day trial needs no card, and it refunds on request within 30 days of the first payment. Castos's trial runs 14 days and starts with a card on file, which is charged only after the 14 days are up.
